Taha AlfizaBrand & Product Designer
NowDesigning at Al Jazeerahello,
thanks for stopping by. here's a bit more about me.
I'm Taha, a brand and product designer from Iraq, living in Istanbul. I've been designing for more than ten years: editorial work for GIZ, motion for the ICRC, and leading a design team as art director at KAPITA Business Hub.
today I design for Al Jazeera and run Dal, a small consultancy for brands in Iraq and the Gulf. before that I spent three years as a senior designer at tabii by TRT, working on campaigns inside Türkiye and around the world.
between client work I build products of my own: Alwa, a B2B food procurement platform I co-founded, and Snap Spend, an Arabic-first app for tracking and splitting expenses.
every project starts with listening: what you're making, who it's for, and where you want to take it. then comes direction. I share references and a few routes, and we choose one together before I draw a single screen or mark. it's the part I care about most.
most of what I make has to work in two directions at once. Arabic and English sit side by side in nearly every system I build, so I design them together rather than translating one into the other.
I studied communication design at Bahçeşehir University in Istanbul and graduated with honours in 2023.
